Commonwealth Games 2022 Concludes: India’s Total 61 Medals, Many Athletes Create History

104 men and 103 women participated in CWG-2022, Indian athletes won 61 medals and made the country proud.

 The Commonwealth 2022, which started from July 28 in Birmingham, England, has concluded today on Monday.  These games have been very special for India.  This time, many players have performed well and played the dunka of India.  The whole country has raised the passion of the players during these games.  The Games started with weightlifter Mirambai Chanu’s gold and ended with a silver medal in hockey.
India’s number 4 position in the points table
 India participated in this Commonwealth Games for the 18th time.  104 men and 103 women participated in it from the country.  These players have been successful in winning 61 medals.  A whopping 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze medals have been won.  Men have made the country proud by winning 35 medals and women 26.  India has got the 4th position in the points table after Australia, England and Canada.
Received loan ball medals for the first time
 India has won the most medals in wrestling with 12 including 6 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals.  For the first time in the country, there has been success in winning medals in Lone Ball Games (one gold, one silver).  On the other hand, the players in athletics and badminton have given their best performances of the season.

 How many medals were won in which sport?
 India has won 10 medals in weightlifting, 7 in table tennis, 7 in boxing, 6 in badminton, 8 medals in athletics, 2 medals in floorball and 1 medal in para lifting while 3 medals in judo, 2 medals in hockey, 1 medal in cricket and 2 medals in squash.

 Gujarati climbs in Commonwealth Games
 The Indian team won gold in table tennis by defeating Singapore.  Harmeet Desai from Surat was also included in the men’s table tennis team.  Harmeet’s performance in the game has been superb.  Bhavina Patel, the daughter of Gujarat, has made the state and the country proud.  Bhavinaben won a gold medal in para table tennis at the Commonwealth Games.  Indian player won gold medal in para table tennis by defeating Nigerian player 3-0 in the final.Gujarat’s Sonal Patel also won bronze medal in para table tennis at Commonwealth Games 2022.  He won the bronze medal match 3-5.
In subsequent years India won 66 medals in the Games held in Gold Coast.  In which 26 gold, 20 silver, 20 bronze were won.  That time India got 16 medals from shooting alone.  The game was not part of the game this time.  This performance was the best ever for India.
